DP World Hub Talent Development seeks to provide the tools to help the business recruit, hire, retain and develop the most talented employees.
Managing and developing organisational talent in today’s changing world requires a global approach and must reflect the demands of a wide range of cultures and personalities. To do this, DP World Hub focuses on two key areas:
• Development of talent management guidelines and tools, and
• Targeted development of identified talent pools
DP World Hub’s talent development approach can be broken down into three core elements:
Identify: We nominate high-potential candidates through talent reviews and assess and evaluate them against predictive measures to identify their strengths, experience and knowledge gaps.
Invest: We accelerate the readiness of identified talent through critical experiences, while preparing them for transition through coaching, cultural assimilation and other development programmes.
Impact: We actively and strategically move talent around the organisation and upwards through our business to enable leadership readiness. We continuously track and report on talent progress against our plans, and connect talent to leaders, peers and the external market.
Talent management and development programmes
There are three key programmes for talent management and development:
Managed at a local or regional level to best meet the business needs, the programme is focused on the recruitment and development of the best graduate talent and provides accelerated development opportunities. Grow comprises face-to-face and online courses over a two- to four-year period.
Emerge is a one- to two-year regional programme designed in collaboration with regional partners to develop business unit functional department heads, ensuring terminal bench strength at business unit level. This cutting-edge programme seeks to create high-potential talent pools to be accelerated at middle management level.
Designed in partnership with Erasmus University in Rotterdam, a leading research institution, Evolve is an 18-month long global programme aimed at newly-appointed or up and coming business unit heads and regional leaders across DP World divisions.
