DP World sponsors Garhoud Sprint Meeting

DP World are to sponsor Racing at Meydan on Friday, December 9th, where the feature race is Al Garhoud Sprint.

DP World, one of the world’s most influential providers of smart logistics solutions, is a regular supporter of racing in the UAE, also lending its backing to the $5million Dubai Turf at the Dubai World Cup meeting.

This week’s card is another strong one as Meydan Racecourse continues its build-up to the Dubai World Cup Carnival, which begins on Friday, January 6th. The featured 1200metre Garhoud Sprint was won last season by the RRR Racing-owned Switzerland, who went on to Group 1 glory in the Dubai Golden Shaheen in March.

The seven-race meeting also features the Mirdif Stakes, over 1400m for two-year-olds, which was won last year by subsequent UAE 2000 Guineas winner Azure Coast, and a new Thoroughbred Fillies and Mares’ Handicap, over a mile.
