DP WORLD <br> DAR ES SALAAM

The multi-purpose terminal (Terminal 1) at Dar es Salaam port, operated by DP World, acts as the gateway for East and Central Africa. As part of our locations across the global network, it is a strategic hub linking Tanzania and its landlocked neighbours to global markets.

The concession agreement awarded to DP World in 2024 has been used to develop and modernise Terminal 1 of Dar es Salaam port under a BOT (Build, Operate & Transfer) basis for a period of 30 years.

Under this agreement, we have committed to invest over USD 500 million to modernise terminal infrastructure and information technology capabilities, and to adopt best operational practices. This will create additional growth opportunities for the port and logistics sector in Tanzania and help transform the country into a competitive global logistics centre.
