DELIVERING FOR GRASSROOTS

Making the sport more accessible to communities everywhere

DP World is committed to using its smart logistics expertise to make the game of golf more accessible.

Since 2022 the Second Life Container has collected over 350,000 golf balls, redistributing them through our global logistics network to give them a second life.

In 2025, we took our commitment to growing the game to a new level with the launch of the DP World Clubhouse initiative that sees us transform retired shipping containers into custom-built golf training hubs.

Second Life Container DP World

THE SECOND LIFE CONTAINER

Our unique Second Life Container, a repurposed 20-foot shipping container, visits tournaments across the globe on a mission to collect used, unwanted, and lost golf balls throughout the season. Rather than ending up in landfills, or hidden away in cupboards at home, the unwanted golf balls collected during the season are repurposed and redistributed to support grassroots golf projects, helping to give more people access to the sport.

Golf ball donations have been made from DP World Tour players, fans, governing bodies, professional golf ball divers, ball-collecting dogs and falcons, as well as children’s golf ball hunts.

So far, balls have been sent to initiatives around the world, including India, Kenya, South Africa, Europe, and UAE.

The initiative has been boosted in recent times by our Balls for Birdies initiative.

THE DP WORLD CLUBHOUSE

DP World deepened its commitment to the grassroots game in 2025, with the launch of the DP World Clubhouse – a global grassroots initiative turning retired shipping containers into custom-built golf training hubs.

The first Clubhouse, created in partnership with the Sally Little Golf Trust was deliverd in Cape Town during the 2025 season. Each Clubhouse will be uniquely designed to provide safe, accessible spaces for underserved communities, helping young people learn and grow through golf while giving trade infrastructure a meaningful second life.
