Reducing emissions is central to our sustainability strategy, and our results show how far we have come. Since 2019, we have cut CO₂ per container by more than half, while overall emissions dropped to 9.83 kilotons in 2023. This represents a 26% decrease compared to our original 2019 baseline. Building on this momentum, we have reset our targets to achieve a 42% cut in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, using 2022 as the new baseline, with European ports aiming for an even higher 51% reduction. These steps align our efforts with the ambitions of the Paris Agreement.

Developing our people is at the heart of our long-term vision. In 2023, each employee received an average of 3.5 hours of training, with more than 70% focused on health, safety, and environmental topics. Beyond compliance, these sessions equip staff with the skills and confidence to work smarter, safer, and more sustainably. We continue to broaden opportunities for professional growth, recognising that well-trained employees are the foundation of both safety and innovation.

We believe that sustainability extends beyond our terminal gates, which is why we invest in partnerships that benefit society and the environment. In Antwerp, we support initiatives to protect oceans, restore ecosystems, and keep natural spaces clean. Our collaborations include organisations such as WISTA, which promotes women in shipping and trade, and City Pirates, which empowers young people in our community. These long-term relationships are a vital part of our strategy, ensuring that our progress supports both global goals and local impact.
