London Gateway secures new feeder service

Date: 18/02/2020

The Anna G will be the first vessel to call at DP World London Gateway on 21 February, marking the start of the new service, which offers fast connectivity from northern England and Scotland to deep-sea markets.

The new service will provide a crucial link between London Gateway and the UK East Coast ports network as well as the Northern Range hinterland at Antwerp, Belgium and Dunkirk, France. This service is also a competitive alternative for customers shipping cargo between Europe and the UK as well as transshipment connections via London Gateway.

Unifeeder became part of the DP World group in 2018 as part of DP World’s ambitions to be an integral player in global supply chains and enable trade across the end-to-end logistics value chain.

This service helps DP World London Gateway to provide smarter and more sustainable trade enabling solutions for cargo owners.

DP World Head of UK Ports, James Leeson, explains:

“This service will open up trade opportunities by providing alternative connections for more remote locations with the deep-sea channels. It is also good news for the environment by offering more opportunities for cargo to be moved by sea reducing the footprint of land transport. This service is a great opportunity for customers looking to create smarter and more sustainable supply chains.”

This additional flow of cargo from this service into DP World London Gateway reinforces the port’s position as being the country’s fastest growing state-of-the-art port and logistics trade hub.
