A NEW MILESTONE IN PERUVIAN HISTORY
DP World has written a new milestone in Peruvian port history with the official inauguration of the 'Bicentennial Pier' megaproject, transforming the South Pier terminal of the Port of Callao into the largest capacity terminal on the west coast of South America. By making the terminal more competitive and efficient, the Port of Callao is consolidating its position as a major regional logistics hub.
FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL PERUVIANS
The expansion of the port of Callao will boost foreign trade and the country's economy, and will directly benefit the Constitutional Province of Callao and the departments of Lima, Ica, Ancash and the central zone of the country, facilitating the export and import of products to these regions.
Bicentennial Pier' is an emblematic project for Peru, which DP World has had the privilege of delivering to the country in record time and with 100% private resources, further strengthening the competitiveness of all Peruvian foreign trade.

A NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPORTERS
One of the primary purposes of the dock's development is to adjust its capacity to meet the growing demand in import and export operations, while also seeking to ensure maximum port optimization through the implementation of state-of-the-art technology.
In this way, the port expansion can have several benefits for importing companies, both in Peru and in the region as a whole. These include:
Greater capacity and efficiency
Expanding the port can increase its capacity to receive and handle a larger number of containers and goods. This can reduce bottlenecks and delays in the unloading and distribution process, which in turn can improve import efficiency.
Cost reduction
A large and efficient port can lower the costs associated with importing. Shorter wait times and faster processing can reduce storage costs, delays, and other expenses related to transportation and logistics.
Greater competitiveness
Importing companies can benefit from increased competitiveness in terms of price and delivery times. This could encourage greater participation in international trade and attract foreign investment.
Product diversification

SUSTAINABLE OPERATIONS
The 'Bicentennial Pier' features state-of-the-art electric equipment: 3 new quay cranes, 12 new yard cranes, and 20 internal trucks, all fully electric.
In addition, the first electric charging station in Latin America was built for the fleet of 20 internal trucks. Looking ahead, an additional investment of $40.5 million in port equipment is planned to increase port competitiveness, with the purchase of 2 dock cranes, 3 yard cranes, and 6 internal transport trucks.
This substantial investment in port infrastructure and state-of-the-art equipment, which in many cases exceeded the initial planned investment, reinforces DP World’s commitment to improving the terminal’s operability and increasing the positive impact on the region, in line with global market trends, where customers demand efficient, safe and sustainable ports and logistics solutions.

What are Environmental Quality Standards (EQS)?
The ECA (Environmental Quality Standards) establish the concentration levels of elements or substances present in the environment that do not pose risks to human health or the environment. In Peru, there are five types of ECA standards: water, air, soil, noise, and non-ionizing radiation.
Which government agency oversees the activities at the South Pier?
The activities at Muelle Sur are constantly supervised by the Ministry of Transport and Communications through the DGAAM, the National Port Authority, and OSITRAN as the supervisory entity responsible for monitoring compliance with the Concession Agreement.
Will the beach areas in the surrounding districts be dredged?
No. Dredging works will only be carried out within the concession area and offshore, without affecting beach areas.
Is it true that the South Pier expansion will extend southward, affecting the beaches near the terminal?
No. The Muelle Sur expansion project only contemplates extending offshore, remaining within the limits of the concession area.
Does the project generate any type of pollution in the surrounding areas?
DP World in Callao maintains high environmental and safety standards, ensuring that no adverse effects are generated on the environment or public health. The company also holds ISO 14001 environmental management certification. Throughout its years of operation, no incidents involving environmental damage have been recorded at Muelle Sur.
Have air, water, noise, or other quality monitoring activities been carried out?
Yes. Indicator results are monitored quarterly and presented in Environmental Reports submitted to the corresponding authorities. To date, all results remain within the parameters established by law.
Is it true that the project will reduce the space of the surrounding beaches?
No. Changes in sea levels and marine currents are phenomena that have been occurring for several decades. It can be verified that abnormal wave activity is a phenomenon occurring across the entire Pacific coast, and its frequency may have increased as a consequence of climate change, greenhouse effects, and global warming. There is no evidence that changes in water levels or wave direction on the beaches of Chucuito are related to the construction of Muelle Sur.
Will the expansion project pollute the sea, endangering marine species in the area?
Muelle Sur operations do not discharge waste into the sea. Our Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) includes the participation of SERFOR to safeguard wildlife species potentially involved during the construction process.
The company claims it will invest approximately USD 350 million in the South Pier expansion. Will it make social contributions for the population located in the area of influence?
The Concession Agreement does not establish any specific obligation regarding the creation of a fund financed by port operation revenues. However, as part of our social responsibility policy toward the communities surrounding our operations, DP World carries out sustainability initiatives benefiting schools, elderly care homes, civil associations, and other local groups. At DP World, we remain committed to supporting the development of the local community and continuously evaluate opportunities that particularly benefit the population of Callao.
Will the investment in the South Pier generate jobs for residents of the area?
Residents of nearby areas may apply at any time for current or future job opportunities as they become available.
Will the construction of the south pier expansion require trucks carrying construction materials to pass through areas like Chucuito or La Punta?
According to the project’s Traffic Impact Study submitted to the authorities, construction trucks will circulate along Av. Manco Cápac to Gambetta Avenue and vice versa. The possibility of transporting fill material and other required resources by sea is also being evaluated. The use of roads in areas such as Chucuito or La Punta is not contemplated.
Will traffic congestion increase during construction?
During project execution, the measures established in the Traffic Impact Study will be implemented to mitigate any congestion that may result from vehicle entry and exit throughout the duration of the works.
The study establishes two circulation shifts: from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. During nighttime hours, 60 trucks per hour will arrive, while during daytime hours, 20 trucks per hour will circulate. In both cases, roadway service levels are not expected to be affected.
