Duke Point porject will enhance DP World’s coast-to-coast Canadian footprint, and provide a long-term port-to-port solution for short-sea shipping between Nanaimo and Vancouver, as well as expand direct access from Nanaimo to global import/export markets via direct calls to Asia.

To support further growth and meet market demand, investments were made to enhance the sustainable capacity of the Prince Rupert Fairview terminal, with completion occurring in July 2022.

Key components of the project included the expansion of the container yard to the south of the existing terminal. The installation of Canada’s largest quay crane was finalized in June 2021, which significantly bolstered the terminal's capabilities.

Additionally, there were investments in extra mobile equipment to optimize operations. A crucial improvement was the establishment of a direct connection to the Fairview-Ridley Connector Corridor, which effectively eliminated container truck traffic from downtown Prince Rupert.

The redevelopment will esult in a canola oil throughput capacity of approximately 1,000,000 tonnes per year.

DP World Fraser Surrey Inc. is proposing the Lower Berth Access Improvement (LBAI) Project at its Fraser Surrey Terminal. The project will enhance vessel access and egress at the lower berths by removing a deteriorated section of an in-river wall structure originally built in 1967. This upgrade will improve safety, reduce vessel maneuvering, and increase berth utilization, while minimizing environmental impacts.

DP World Canada is heavily involved in expanding the Port of Montreal through the new Contrecœur container terminal, a major project with the Montreal Port Authority (MPA) to boost capacity for Eastern Canada by 2030.
