A Responsible Future Starts Here

At DP World, we see our role as leading global trade into a future that’s more resilient, efficient and sustainable. We’re reimagining how global trade works, to protect our planet, empower our people and share prosperity more fairly across the world.

Through our ‘Our World, Our Future’ strategy we operate as a responsible business, prioritising the impact sustainability has on people, the environment, and the communities where we operate. We’re cutting emissions across logistics, empowering people to enable progress and creating pathways to quality education. By decarbonising trade, restoring biodiversity and supporting communities, our strategy is designed to create impact that lasts, for our industry today and for generations to come. And we’re empowering every one of our employees to play a part in shaping that future.

Sustainability in Action

From our ports and terminals to our logistics parks and digital platforms, sustainability runs through everything we do. Real progress happens when innovation and purpose come together.

Delivering on Our Net Zero Ambition

At DP World, we know climate action means doing two things at once, cutting emissions and building resilience.

We’ve committed to net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Our five-pillar decarbonisation strategy is transforming the way trade works - from electrifying equipment and expanding renewables to rethinking supply chains and investing in low-carbon transport.

The logistics industry accounts for around 7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, underscoring the importance of collective action. At DP World we’re acting at scale from raising a $1.5 billion green sukuk to fund decarbonisation initiatives, to cutting our own emissions by 20% in just two years. We’ve also set an ambitious Scope 3 commitments that address emissions across our entire value chain, from suppliers and transport partners to the goods moving through our network.

A Sustainable Blue Economy

With 90% of global trade moving by sea, the ocean is central to our business, and our future. When the ocean thrives, trade can too, creating a system where people and nature flourish together. That’s why we’re using our global reach to protect and restore marine environments while empowering the communities who depend on them.

The blue economy, supported by our blue bond which raised $100 million for projects that focus on water stewardship and enhancing ocean biodiversity, is vital for DP World as it drives sustainable growth in maritime trade, safeguards critical supply chains, and ensures long-term prosperity for coastal economies we depend on.

From coral reef restoration to living seawalls that enhance biodiversity and partnerships with coastal communities, our colleagues worldwide are demonstrating that sustainability is central to who we are.

Our World, Our Future – Where Trade Meets Purpose

We’re building a future where sustainability drives every decision we make, and where every career can help lead the charge.

Regional Impact, Global Change

Sustainability is about local action with global benefits, and our people are making that happen every day.

In partnership with Bridges to Prosperity, we’re reusing cables from our Jebel Ali port to build footbridges that will provide year-round safe access to education, healthcare, and markets, significantly improving local economic and social outcomes.

So far, DP World volunteers from engineering and operational teams have shared their expertise to help build more than 30 bridges, which have transformed life for over 100,000 people in rural communities, proving that circular economy solutions can also create lifelines of opportunity.

Our Solar Mamas programme with Barefoot College International is training women to become solar engineers - turning knowledge into light for thousands of homes. Nearly 2,000 rural households now have clean energy, with women in Senegal, Angola, and Somaliland leading the way. For us, it’s about empowering women to inspire change and spark opportunity for generations to come.

At Jebel Ali Port, we’re transforming grey infrastructure into living ecosystems. In partnership with Living Seawalls, our teams have installed eco-friendly panels that mimic natural habitats like rock pools and mangroves, helping marine life thrive along the UAE coastline. Launched during the UAE’s Year of Sustainability, the project is a reminder that when innovation meets teamwork, both industry and nature can flourish.

Details of the impact we have been making over the past 10 years can be found in our community resilience report, available here.

Employees as Changemakers

Our sustainability strategy is driven by the passion of our people. From restoring 280 hectares of mangroves by 2030 to mentoring young learners through our Global Education Platform (GEP), colleagues across our global network are taking action where it matters most, in their communities and for the planet.

In Egypt, for example, our teams partnered with VeryNile and local fishermen on World River Day, removing nearly 400kg of plastic waste from the Nile. It’s proof that when we act together, even the world’s biggest challenges feel smaller.

To turn this energy into lasting impact, we created the DP World Sustainability Academy - a global hub that gives every employee the tools to advance our ‘Our World, Our Future’ strategy. From climate resilience and human rights to reporting, finance, and sustainable innovation, the Academy transforms knowledge into action and ambition into change.

Global Education Platform: Empowering Students, Transforming Employees

At DP World, education is the foundation for lasting, positive change. Linked to our Our World, Our Future strategy, we launched the Global Education Platform (GEP) — a free, multilingual hub designed to equip young people with the knowledge and tools to navigate the future of global trade and sustainability. With interactive modules, real-world case studies, and career exploration tools, the GEP connects classrooms to industry in meaningful ways, supporting students aged 7–16 and educators worldwide.

To date, the platform has welcomed 7,576 visitors, reflecting its growing global reach. A unique feature of GEP is that it is delivered by DP World employees who volunteer their time as Changemakers. For example, during a session at Dwight School in Dubai, employees guided students through sustainability and trade challenges. Volunteer Lola Uzun reflected: “Participating in the Global Education Platform session was a transformative experience. This initiative has encouraged us to rethink our strategies; we are now more committed to promoting collaborative problem-solving and cultural sensitivity within our team.”

By 2030, DP World aims to reach 1.5 million students, empowering the next generation while enriching the skills and perspectives of our employees.
