Together, we create lasting impact
At DP World volunteering is part of who we are, an essential part of how we grow as a business as individuals and as a force for good in the world. Our people are stepping forward with purpose, applying their skills to support local communities, deepen customer relationships and drive progress where it’s needed most.
Whether it’s mentoring students, cleaning up coastlines or building bridges, volunteering connects us to the communities we serve, and to the values we stand for. It strengthens our leadership and fuels the empathy that drives smarter, more human-centred business decisions.
This is how we bring our purpose to life, and the impact is growing. Over the past ten years, more than 45,000 employees have contributed over 194,000 hours of volunteering, impacting more than four million people worldwide. Behind every hour is a colleague using their experience and insight to create meaningful change.
Because when volunteering is part of your culture, your people grow with purpose, and that's how we create a ripple effect of change that reaches far beyond the moment.
Sharing Knowledge, Shaping Futures
One of the most meaningful ways we give back is through education. We know that our people are the driving force behind our success, and just as importantly, a catalyst for change in the world we live in.
Through our Global Education Platform, our flagship skills-based volunteering initiative, we’re sharing our experience and expertise. From career coaching and STEM workshops to employability training, colleagues across our network are helping young people build brighter futures, one session at a time.
This connects us with local communities, and it’s powered by partnerships built on purpose. Working with schools and education-focused organisations, we’re helping to prepare the next generation today, for the opportunities of tomorrow. And through global partners like Teach For All, we’re building essential, market-relevant skills that young people need to thrive in a constantly changing world.
As trade and education continue to evolve, we’re staying focused on what matters most: making high-quality, inclusive learning more accessible. In 2024 alone, 37,799 employees completed over 86,000 courses, investing more than 432,000 learning hours, that’s around 11.5 hours per person. It’s a powerful reminder that when we invest in ourselves, we’re also strengthening our ability to lift others, and shape a future that is inclusive for everyone.
Working With Nature, Driving Positive Change
At DP World, we believe some of the most powerful solutions start with nature. That’s why we’re protecting and restoring ecosystems across the connected landscapes and waterways that link us all.
Whether we’re restoring mangroves or leading clean-ups across rivers, beaches and port communities, our people are taking action. In 2024, we collected more than 10,400 kilograms of waste globally - a tangible step toward healthier ecosystems and stronger community resilience.
These efforts reflect our commitment to Nature-based Solutions, working with nature to tackle global challenges. By restoring natural systems, we help reverse biodiversity loss, support climate action, and deliver vital services like clean water and coastal protection. This work underpins two key areas of our strategy - Diverse and Resilient Ecosystems as well as Healthy Waters - and it’s guided by our Blue Carbon Ecosystems Strategy, focused on restoring carbon-rich environments like mangroves and seagrasses.
We also take a Source-to-Sea approach, recognising that what happens inland impacts ocean health. Because we understand that, while we’re operating in nature, we need to partner with it to build a better future for everyone.
DRIVING CHANGE TOGETHER – FROM LOCAL ACTION TO GLOBAL IMPACT AT DP WORLD.
Creating Meaningful Change
Wherever we are in the world, our teams are stepping up to support causes that uplift health and wellbeing. In Rwanda, for example, we partnered with local communities, authorities and Bridges to Prosperity to help build the Kabeza trail bridge, a 50-metre lifeline that now provides safe, year-round access for over 4,600 people, including nearly 1,800 children. What was once a dangerous crossing, is now a vital link to schools, markets and healthcare.
This is a powerful symbol of what’s possible when we come together and a reminder that the impact we make goes far beyond infrastructure, it changes lives.
Leading with Purpose
Every time we support a cause, we build new skills and find renewed purpose in what we do. It strengthens our leadership and our empathy, qualities that make us better, both at work and in life. Because how we show up for our communities matters just as much as how we show up for work.
If you’re looking for more than just a job, if you want to be part of something meaningful, we’d love to hear from you.
