MINDING MY WASTE
AWARD-WINNING ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS APP
The Minding My Waste project at DP World Yarımca began in 2019 with third-graders in Körfez to reduce single-use plastics. Teachers from 27 primary schools were trained, as a 100-strong volunteer team delivered classroom sessions including the “Reset Trash” and “Zero the Waste” games. Nearly 15,000 students have taken part.
Inside our facilities, the “Minding Waste Office System” improved waste management through recycling points, removal of under-desk bins, replacing disposables with reusables, awareness meetings, and the distribution of 1,000 cotton shopping bags during World Environment Week.
