Our Sustainability Approach

Enabling smarter trade to create a better future for everyone.

Our World, Our Future

As a leader in global logistics, DP World enables smarter trade to create a better future for all. DP World's sustainability strategy "Our World, Our Future" guides our approach. It helps us work in a responsible way that prioritizes sustainability and impact on people, communities, and the environment in which we operate.

World trade has been growing fast in the last decades. It is becoming increasingly clear that this growth is necessary: from the energy to manufacture and move merchandise to the intensity of logistics resources. As one of the leading facilitators of global trade, we believe we have the tools, ingenuity, and drive to lead a revolution in logistics.

We do this by using new smart technologies to make our operations more sustainable. By doing so, we reduce the use of energy and resources, and create a more equitable and connected planet. The "Our World, Our Future" strategy is designed to deliver responsible operations. At the same time, it prepares us for a radical change in the way business, and logistics in particular, respond to the great challenges of climate change, education, and social inequality.

Sustainable Development Goals

DP World's "Our World, Our Future" strategy is divided into two components that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

'Our World' focuses on the efforts we make today to operate as a responsible company through seven priority areas. It is delivered through ambitious commitments, to be achieved by 2030. 'Our Future' focuses on the lasting legacy we will provide to our industry and society. It focuses on three areas where we can make a positive difference for future generations: Education, Women and Oceans. We have established a series of commitments that will be fulfilled by the year 2030.

To fulfill our strategy, we are working with leading organizations, partners, individuals, and institutions. In 2019, we joined the United Nations Global Compact. We also engaged with World Economic Forum platforms to enhance collaborative action for growth and development and created new initiatives with our existing partners Blue Marine Foundation, Logistics Emergency Team and IMPACT2030.

The 17 SDGs address important issues such as eradicating poverty and hunger, improving health and education, combating climate change, and protecting our oceans and forests.

The Impact of Trade:

THE IMPACT ON SOCIETY:
At DP World we carry out around 12 sustainability programs annually, where our collaborators actively participate for the benefit of the development of the communities where we operate.

Through the Go Green program, DP World invested in 3 parks in the Callao community, planting 170 trees, 7,465 meters of green areas and 1,350 plants.

Our library project benefited more than 1,000 students from Callao, creating the habit of reading from an early age in a modern reading place. In addition, multimedia areas were created for research, access digital books and, above all, stimulate student learning.
