Terminal Infrastructure
DP World Karachi is located at Port Muhammad Bin Qasim at a distance of 50 km from the Karachi City Center and is approximately 13km from the National Highway. Port Qasim encompasses a total area of 12,000 acres where in many industrial zones are operating. 80% of the automotive industry is located in and around Port Qasim. Being at a strategic location which is only 13km from the National highway, Port Qasim is well connected to major hinterland markets supporting 70% of the country exports. The 14km long rail siding within the terminal comprises of 6 rail tracks that connect to the National railway grid. A large number of Multi National companies have opened ware houses at Port Qasim for stuffing / destuffing of import / export cargo which are at very close proximity to the terminal.
DP World Karachi also operates an off dock facility in Karachi city called the NLC Container Terminal situated at Mai Kolachi. The total area of the facility is 10 acres and has a capacity to handle 4,500 TEUs per month. With the NLC Container Terminal, QICT is the only terminal operator in Pakistan that has taken our services beyond the terminal gates into the customers logistics chain.
