DP World in Chile has begun formal talks with state-owned Empresa Portuaria San Antonio (EPSA) regarding new investments in its multipurpose terminal in San Antonio, the largest terminal in the country’s central region.
Curtis Doiron, CEO of DP World in Chile, said, “We have begun formal talks with EPSA to make new investments in our multipurpose terminal in San Antonio and extend the concession through 2041, with the aim of increasing our capacity by 30% to 1.3 million TEUs. This will help maintain the competitiveness, productivity, and safety required by Chile’s growing international trade demand, supported by DP World as a global integrated logistics operator. These investments involve new works and state-of-the-art equipment.”
Doiron added, “DP World’s multipurpose terminal in San Antonio, whose operations include containers, vehicle imports, bulk cargo, and cruise passengers, is a key player in the logistics development of the country’s central region. With this new investment and projected growth, we will strengthen the port and logistics leadership of central Chile in the South Pacific.”
