Building Connectivity, One Move at a Time: 22 Years in Romania
Every journey starts with a single move - and in 2004, our story in Romania began with just one vessel and a clear sense of possibility.
Case studies
In 2004, our story in Romania began with just one vessel and a clear sense of possibility. From the outset, the ambition was never limited to a single operation. It was about building a lasting legacy - an approach to logistics that could grow alongside Romania’s role in regional and global trade.
Over the next two decades, that first step gathered momentum. As volumes increased and customer needs evolved, so did our operations. Early growth quickly turned into scale, driven by sustained investment in infrastructure and capability. The development of terminal operations marked a turning point, enabling us to operate at a new level and opening the door to handling significantly higher volumes. What started as a single move had become a platform for long‑term expansion.
Scaling with Purpose
Growth was never one‑dimensional. As trade flows diversified, we expanded capacity and broadened the types of cargo we could support. Our operations evolved to handle increasingly complex shipments, from automotive cargo - including the largest car carriers handled at the time - to bulk commodities such as grain, supporting critical agricultural supply chains.
Each addition strengthened our ability to respond to market demand, while reinforcing resilience and flexibility across our network.
Evolving Through Innovation
Innovation played a central role in this evolution. Investments in new systems and advanced equipment transformed the way our terminals operated, making them smarter, safer and more efficient.
These improvements were not just about performance - they were about reliability, visibility and consistency for customers navigating increasingly complex supply chains.
Connecting Sea, Road and Rail
As our footprint grew, so did our ambition to connect more of Romania’s logistics ecosystem. Expansion beyond coastal operations strengthened inland connectivity, creating vital links between ports, intermodal terminals and key economic centres.
Through our presence across Constanța, Aiud, Arad and Bucharest, we built a network that connects sea, road and rail, enabling smoother cargo flows and reducing friction across the supply chain.
An Integrated Network for a Changing World
In recent years, this network has continued to expand across a wider geography, reinforcing Romania’s position as a strategic logistics hub. Developments including the Aiud Intermodal Terminal and a 119,000 m² multimodal platform at our Constanța Terminal reflect a clear focus on integration - bringing end‑to‑end logistics solutions closer to customers and markets.
What underpins this journey is the combination of global scale and local expertise. Our international network provides reach, resilience and consistency, while our teams in Romania bring deep market knowledge and operational excellence. Together, they help businesses reduce complexity, strengthen supply chains and access new opportunities with confidence.
From a single vessel to an integrated logistics network, our story in Romania is one of continuous progress - built on trust, partnership and a commitment to moving trade forward. And as supply chains evolve, so do we.
