Enrique is a seasoned port operations leader with over 35 years of global experience across Africa, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East. He has held senior leadership roles in multi-purpose terminals, driving operational performance, implementing terminal operating systems, and leading teams through ramp-ups and automation initiatives.
He brings deep expertise in terminal operations, planning, asset maintenance, safety, and Lean methodology to deliver efficient, reliable, and safe service levels. Enrique has successfully overseen the development and privatisation of terminals, including Tanger (Morocco), Moin (Costa Rica), Monrovia (Liberia), Callao (Peru), and Luanda (Angola), demonstrating strong operational and business acumen.
Known for fostering high-performance, safety-conscious cultures, he aligns operational design with civil works, equipment, IT, automation, and safety requirements to ensure timely, on-budget project delivery. Enrique also drives cultural and process transformations to maximise efficiency and service quality.
He holds a Licentiate in Civil Marine and is a Captain of the Spanish Merchant Marine. His professional development includes leadership and operational excellence programs such as Lean & Six Sigma Green Belt and “Leader of Leaders.”
