Khalid has been working in the industry since 2017 and joined an intensive talent acceleration programme (20XEL). Khalid successfully led numerous business development projects within the Economic Zones segment, which are now fully operational.
Notable projects include the Posorja Economic Zone in Ecuador, the Berbera Economic Zone in Somaliland, and the Mumbai Free Trade Warehousing Zone in India. His responsibilities have extended to include operationalising, commercialising, and marketing these zones to ensure their success. Additionally, spearheaded the rebranding of the Economic Zones pillar, transitioning it from a traditional real estate-driven approach to a more logistics-focused strategy. Also, developed a comprehensive customer database that serves as a valuable tool for marketing and promoting future projects.
Khalid has extensive experience in driving growth and fostering strategic partnerships, focusing on identifying opportunities that enhance the competitiveness and value of economic zones. His role involves developing innovative solutions to attract investments, support global trade, and contribute to DP World's mission of transforming logistics and trade ecosystems.
