Daniel Van Otterdijk

Group Chief Communications & Government Relations Officer


Daniel is Group Chief Communications & Government Relations Officer at DP World. He leads the Group's global brand, communications, government relations, public affairs, partnerships and sponsorships, as well as investor relations. He is responsible for shaping and delivering the Group’s communications and stakeholder engagement strategy, and advises the Group Chairman, Group CEO and Executive Leadership Team on executive communications, corporate reputation, public policy and investor engagement.

A seasoned communications leader with more than 20 years’ international experience, Daniel has worked across Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and Asia in a range of sectors, including energy, oil and gas, healthcare, retail and technology.

Before joining DP World, Daniel spent 17 years with Shell, progressing through a series of senior communications roles. He has also served as a Non-Executive Director within the communications industry.

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. A Dutch national, he has lived and worked internationally for much of his career, spending 12 years in New Zealand and 18 years in the United Kingdom before relocating to Dubai to join DP World.
