Intercontinental Work Safety Meeting

Hosted by DP World Yarımca, the 2019 Regional Work Safety, Operation and Engineering meeting was held in Istanbul between November 5th and 7th. DP World port representatives in Europe-Russia region as well as the general assembly members from the head office attended the conference. The main theme of the 3-days-long conference was work safety at the ports with presentations by operation and engineering teams showing what works are being one in their own areas for human, environment and machinery/equipment safety. In addition to information and idea sharing to improve work safety standards, decrease risks and to maximize operation maintenance efficiency, a discussion was held via group activities on how to improve DP World. Davide Scotti, Saipem’s Director of Corporate Work Health-Safety & Environment Training, Communication and Culture, attended the meeting and gave a training on “Work Safety Training and Communication Techniques from the Point of View of the Communication & Training Director’s Behaviors”, which attracted great attention. Participants from Dubai Head Office and Regional Offices shared the projects and standards of the future and emphasized the importance of a global policy towards work health & safety and environment.
