Our environment project wins Silver Stevie

DP World Yarımca won the Silver Stevie Award for Corporate Social Responsibility in Europe with the “Minding My Waste” program, an educational project developed as part of the company’s social responsibility efforts.

The program, which was developed in cooperation with the Mind Your Waste Foundation, Kocaeli University, Governorship of Korfez and the district directorate of national education, educated 3rd grade students studying in the elementary schools in Kocaeli’s Körfez district on plastic pollution in oceans as well as the importance of waste sorting and recycling.

The Stevie Awards, which recognizes corporate achievements in a wide variety of categories every year, is organized by the American Business Association. Attending the award ceremony in the Austrian capital, Vienna to receive DP World Yarımca’s award, CEO Kris Adams said, in his acceptance speech, “At DP world Yarimca we focus on doing our best for our customers and suppliers, concern for the environment with a determination to be leaders in terms of reducing environmental impact. Focusing on sustainability is a corporate necessity for us. It is mission critical given the current impact pollution and waste is having on our oceans and the ecosystems that need a healthy maritime environment”.
