MADE.COM, a leading European design brand and fast-growing e-commerce retailer took occupation of 165,000 sq ft of warehouse space at DP World London Gateway Logistics Park in January 2019. This facility is an example of the sort of cross docked (double-sided) space that is available within DP World London Gateway’s Logistics Centre.
It chose to locate at DP World London Gateway for its proximity to market – enabling two-man deliveries to home and business addresses and allowing the business to take greater control of its service to UK customers, enhancing their experience, as well as adding long term capacity for growth.
This site forms part of MADE.COM’s growing European-wide warehousing portfolio. Increasingly, the retailer is utilising the on-site deep-sea port, with goods inbound to the UK arriving at this centre to save on miles travelled inland by containers.
The online retailer has recently exercised its expansion option for a delivery of a new 289,000 sq ft warehouse due to be operational in 2021. The terms of this flexible agreement contain an option to expand by an additional 100,000 sq. ft to accommodate this rapidly growing business, allowing it to continue to optimise its supply chain.
