Limassol, Cyprus, 24th February 2022: DP World hosted delegates from the Cypriot Government at its flagship terminal, Jebel Ali Port in Dubai on Wednesday February 23

Cyprus’ Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, H.E. Yiannis Karousos and the Shipping Deputy Minister, H.E. Vassilios Demetriades were both invited by DP World Limassol CEO Nawaf Abdulla.

Both Ministers were welcomed and given a tour of Jebel Ali’s facilities by high-ranking DP World delegation headed by the CEO & Managing Director of DP World UAE Region & JAFZA (Jebel Ali Free Zone), Mr. Abdulla bin Damithan.

During the visit, the Cypriot officials saw up close the scale of port operations at the Middle East’s largest port, which is the premier gateway for over 80 weekly services connecting more than 150 ports worldwide.

The Ministers also saw DP World’s latest innovation, Boxbay (a fully automated and intelligent high bay storage (HBS) container system that aims to pioneer the design of future ports and terminals with its capacity and efficiency rates.

The Cypriot government delegation will also have the chance to visit Dubai’s Expo 2020 where DP World is the official Premier Global Trade Partner of the event.
